About CaliforniaController.com
A closer look at the candidates asking to oversee California’s money.
Why this race matters
The State Controller keeps California’s books, administers payroll and unclaimed property, and audits public spending. Those responsibilities affect taxpayers, state employees and families trying to recover money that belongs to them.
This site compares Herb Morgan’s financial experience with Malia Cohen’s career and performance in office. We examine her promises against the record and bring together reporting on the problems voters deserve answers to.
